Stainless Steel Sheave Blocks
Sheave Blocks are common rigging lifting mechanisms. In a block and tackle application, using a sheave / pulley block reduces the amount of force required to lift an abnormally heavy object. A pulley system is used with wire rope or other types of rigging ropes by looping the rope several times through the pulley (around the sheave) before hooking to the object. The amount of force required decreases proportionally to the number of pulleys or "loops" used during the hoist.
